Many long term unemployed are simply not ready to enter the workplace. Being out of work for an extended period of time, and then being asked to gain employment can be a difficult and stressful experience. It brings on anxieties, doubts and feelings of a lack of self worth.

At RiseUp we strongly believe that a holistic approach to skills development better prepares the individual for the workplace by building self-esteem, resilience and techniques that help them to cope when under pressure.
Our RiseUp & ReBuild programme combines life coaching and creative engagement with practical workplace skills. The aim is to prepare people to undertake job searches and give them the confidence to enter the workplace better prepared than ever before.
Delivered over 10 x 2 hour sessions to groups of up to 15, the course is compact and flexible. In addition, each participant will receive 1:1 support from an employment coach throughout the programme.

- Assessment to realise barriers to work and develop realistic action plan to find employment.
- Diagnostic interview
- Working in Teams
- Making the Right impression at Work – presentation, hygiene, what employers look for.
- Understanding Conflict at Work
- Deciding on the right job for you
- Looking for Work
- Time Management
- CV writing (plus disclosure letter writing for those with offending issues)
- Rights and Entitlements at Work
This programme was specifically designed to engage those with complex and multiple barriers to work who have traditionally found it difficult to access DWP services. This may include, but not exclusively, BAME claimants, ex offenders, NEET’s, and those affiliated with, or at risk of becoming affiliated with, gangs.
